Answer:- 

    The mean criterion used by the World Bank in classifying different countries, is  the per capita income or average income of a person in country.
limitation of this criteria.
It does not tell us about how its average income is among the people in the individual countries.

5. In what respect is the criterion used by the UNDP for measuring development different from the one used by the World Bank?

Answer:

    The criterion used by the UNDP for measuring development is different from the one used by the world bank in the sense that it uses a combination of factors such as health education and income as indicators of development if done not rely solely on per capita income as, is the case with World Bank.

6. Why do we use averages? Are there any limitation to their use? Illustrate with your own example related to development.

Answer:

     We use average because they are useful for comparing different quantities of the same category. For example, to compute, per capita income of country. Average have to be used because their differences in the income of divers people, and there are limitation to use their average.

7. Kerala, with lower per capita income has better human Development ranking then Haryana. Hence, per capita income is not a useful criteria at all and should not be used to compare state. Do you agree? Discuss.

9. Why is the issue of sustainability important for development? 

Answer:

     Sustainability development is the key to the stable growth of economy. It means that you should take place without damaging the environment, development in present should not compromise with needs of future generation. 

10."the earth has enough resource  to meet the needs of all but not enough to satisfy the greed of even one people". How is this statement relevant to the discussion of development? Discuss.
